SUMMER READING FUN!
So, this is kinda fun. The School Library Journal posted the Top 100 Picture Book Poll of 2009 . The Bookworm's Booklist has posted the top thirty books from that list. The challenge is to create a post of my own on my blog and highlight the books from this list that we have read. I think we have read most of these (maybe all?), but this seems like a great time to go back and do a reread on them-- James is six now, and- not that he won't always love picture books- he is aging out of a few of these on the list. It will be a fun challenge for the summer. I will highlight the ones we read in red as we go along.
For now, I am going to highlight our absolute most favoritist of all in bold italics!! My criteria for a "most favoritist" is a book that was consistently requested by all 3 of my boys as they got old enough to show a preference.
In our book, special honors go to The True Story of the Three Little Pigs for also being an often requested read when my now adult children were little and to Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day for being Jessica's (my 24 year old) favorite book when she just a bit younger! (maybe still ;-))
