Muffin Tin Lunches
I came across this idea (that everyone else in blogland already knew about!) at the beginning of last school year and the boys (especially my youngest two) love it! Yes, this seems more like a preschool idea, but I have found it to be enormously helpful. With homeschooling there are no days off of lunch prep- no hot lunch option. And, at my best, I am not always super enthusiastic about food prep. This adds a twist that encourages me take a bit more time and care in making lunch. We use divided trays (the kind you buy from the dollar store) that are decorated for the season or just plain muffin tins. It makes a fun meal. I tend to be more thoughtful on the days I do "muffin tin" lunches, and James and Mark think that this lunch "was the best ever!".
