Favoritist Valentine's Day Book

Somebody Loves You Mr. Hatch By Eileen Spinelli

Okay, so no one around here actually says "favoritist" anymore and it could be read on any day of the year, but this is a book about love, and it has been a favorite read around here since my 18 year old was a preschooler.

Just to show you how loved this book is, I am sharing my pictures instead of an amazon linked picture-

This book has endured about 15 years of reading, being left on the floor and stepped on (not a preferred practice, but it happens), and just being loved!

In a nutshell- Mr. Hatch is a loner. People say that Mr. Hatch "keeps to himself".  One Valentine's day he receives a package with a note that said, "Somebody loves you". This package opens Mr. Hatch up to the world- and the world to him. I just love that by giving of himself, Mr. Hatch ultimately gains in the end. My kids (from the oldest to the youngest) have always loved this book.

As I write this, it occurs to me that I should order copies for my grand-babies for Valentine's Day! This one is a keeper.

  2. I hate to say it, but that happens to books at our house too! Our favorite Valentine's book is Saint Valentine by Robert Sabuda. Hope you have a blessed St. Valentine's Day!!
