Wrapping Up The Week
I should have titled this "The One With All The Pictures"- I kind of got carried away!
I have been trying to peruse other "wrap-ups" for format ideas. I still love the idea of doing a wrap-up, I just wish I could find a format that I am happy with (that works with my brain). Hopefully, something will click.
In the meantime:
The most wonderful thing this week- I stayed home!! All.Week.Long. Yes, there was the occasional errand (Erin hurt her neck, so I had to drive her a few places), but I was mostly able to stay home all week long. I cannot tell you how refreshed I feel.
We did school-
We played with some fractions.
Working With Fractions by David A. Adler
For those who actually read my blog- yes, those are the same pj's. I can't tell you how many days in a row this is. Suffice it to say, they are in the wash!
Why fractions make good mouse ears, I have no idea...
But the silliness is contagious!
Waaaay contagious!
And then, in a not so silly mood, I caught James quietly working on his Spanish work like he was suppose to be doing! More often than not he gets distracted when left on his own.
I captured Mark in a moment of enthusiasm practicing his skit for Spanish class- I just loved how expressive he was being! (just 4 seconds long)
And we celebrated St. Valentine's Day!
We love celebrating this saint's day- and it provides a great opportunity to say "I love you" to our family.
Mark made us yummy cinnamon coffee cake for breakfast.
We set a festive table for dinner. On the menu- mini meatloaves, red potatoes, and ceasar salad.
Each child gets a few treats (this is Erin's).
We even took a picture of the boys walking Grandma over (she has dinner with us most nights that we are home).
Grandma brought these absolutely killer chocolate chip cookies with her.
Erin's very sweet boyfriend joined us- Erin is recovering from a neck injury (doing much better already!).
My happy thought for the week:
A clean desk! (thanks to actually being home to clean it)
Honestly, I could keep going! Being home makes such a difference in how much we accomplished around the house and in school. I'll have to see if we can't make some adjustments in our schedule!

This is not the best picture, but it is the best one to show how much fun James is having on Timez Attack this week. He has taken on the challenge of passing up his brother's level with a vengeance and is having fun doing it.

Oh, poor Erin! I hope her neck heels quickly! And look at all the fun time and goodies you had this week. We've been home (except for a 45 minutes trip to the library) for 3 days! It's wonderful! Although I can't say I caught up on decluttering and organizing like you did with your desk! LOL
ReplyDeleteThe video of Marky is hilarious!!! and I am very sad that I missed out on Grandma cookies :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful week! I just love those stay-at-home days too.

ReplyDeleteYour desk is t o die for!!!
ReplyDeleteWow! You knocked this wrap up out of the ballpark, Laurie!!! First off, why weren't fractions "fun" when I was learning them?!?! Sr. Josephine had me in at recess most days reviewing them on the board. Ugh! Second, hope Erin is feeling better! Looks serious. Third, LOVE the contagious silly fever running around in your house :) Finally, his Spanish is excellent. :) Oh, and a PS...your desk is totally amazing!!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the desk! I share your joy of having a clean desk. I cleaned mine this week also. It is so nice to be able to put my hands on things quickly, LOL.
ReplyDeleteHope Erin gets to feeling better & has a quick recovery.
The desk looks fab! And everything is funny as mouse ears! Looks like a great week--I always love being able to stay home and limit my running around.
ReplyDeleteI love that the desk has a view to outside- nice! Grandma's cookies look fabulous!
