My Little Corner...

I'm just one of those people who need a quiet place to hide out. Considering that at one time we had as many as 10 kids (my 7 plus boyfriends/fiances) coming through the house on any given day, I find that slightly humorous! I can go for a walk, take a drive (panda express is my "get away spot" of choice), or hide in my room. To make hiding in my room a more pleasant option, I have been working on getting rid of the "storage room" motif in favor of a more cleared away and relaxing environment. I won't win any design awards, but I am close to done! (just some closet organizing still going on)

This rocking chair has rocked many a fussy baby. It also helps makes a nice reading corner.

This photo quilt, a little faded now, was surprise from a friend. She was able to get pictures with the help of my girls and order it for me. I just love it!

My reading pile- I also have "The Help" on my ereader. I am probably the last one in America to read it!

And my Lenten reading.

And a few of my favorite things nearby- this little donkey that has a heart locket that says "slow me down Lord" was a gift from my husband years ago.

This picture arrangement was made for me by my second daughter, Jessica, after her wedding.

And this was a Christmas surprise from all of my kids years ago.

This organization project actually began months ago, but I was able to get the final clear out done while my boys were gone this week with their sister and her husband at the snow (pics to come).

I should mention that my husband made that gorgeous walnut dresser in the photos way back when he was in high school (you can just see the top- I'll have to fix that!). All these years later, it is still just as beautiful.

The final push to get my room done involves photo organization (that are stored in the closet). It has its benefits as a I get a chance to walk down memory lane. The downfall is that it can be slightly distracting!!

Frank and my boys on a rollar coaster- Mark never did like rollar coasters!! :)

Cousins and my youngest four (Erin, Paul, Mark, and James) at Marine World.

Happy blessed Sunday all!! :)

  1. We ALL need that special place to go when we need to get away. I have been trying to figure out where, in our house, to do the same thing for myself when the house is full and the kids are monopolizing my usual space.
