I'm Back...
and blogging from a brand new beautiful computer. Eee gads!! I am not sure I'll ever get used to it, but it has only been a few hours. It really hasn't been that long since my computer crashed, but I really realized just how much I count on it while it was gone.
Just using a new keyboard is got me all discombobulated, so this is going to be a "wrap-up" mostly in pictures (assuming that I can find them ;)).
Mark with his brother-in-law/sponsor and Paul with his sister/sponsor at a special blessing mass for their upcoming confirmation.
Erin (top right) is sponsor to her cousin, Julia.
Lent is here. We kicked it off with 8 a.m. mass followed by a peaceful walk and prayer vigil.
Then St. Valentine's Day celebrated with our Spanish co op.
The first Friday of Lent, we had a mass for our homeschool group followed by the stations of the cross.
My nephew served for the first time with some assistance from cousin Paul. I was very proud of both of the boys.
My niece and her friend during the stations- I love that there are little ones all around. Often the evening stations at churches are mostly attended by adults. This format allows the parents to enjoy the stations without worry. Crying babies and energetic toddlers are welcome! :)
The stations, put up around the church, were colored by the children.
A highlight this month was attending the annual revs (priests) vs. sems (seminarians) basketball game- it was a hoot!!! (stealing a word my mom loved to use it)
In and around all that, we had some babysitting/bonding time with our grandchildren.
And finally...
James conceded that the mop had to go before soccer started! That is his sister cutting his hair. :)
Yup. That's it.
This took way too long to do!! I do not look forward to getting used to this computer- thankful as I am (and I am thankful!), I just don't do "new". Glad to be back though.

Before you know it, you will be a whiz on your new computer! When I look at your photos, I notice how strong your family bond is...cousins, inlaws, etc. Wonderful and heart warming to see, Laurie. I bet that basketball game was a riot!! So two young men to be confirmed this year? Awesome! Sally will be confirmed in May. Our diocese is so HUGE that even with two auxillary bishops, it takes awhile to get one to your church. :) Blessing to you during lent and for the rest of your week.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are back, too, Laurie!! You were missed!
ReplyDeleteGreat Pics :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures and glad you are back! Our 2nd son is being Confirmed in May as well:) Love the comfortable/casual Stations with the kids. I think they get more out of it this way. Beautiful colored display! Are you guys doing the 40 days for life prayer vigil? This is the 2nd year I've committed to once a week and it's been a wonderful Lenten experience. Love Erin's cute haircut (or does she just have it pinned up in the top photo? (and brother's too:) God bless your weekend Hobby Lobby trip!
