Week In Review::September 2014
Monday- Beach Day
My sister and her 5 children, 2 of my daughters and their children, and I with 2 of my boys headed to the beach to try and stretch our summer just a bit longer.
Tuesday- First Day of Theater Fun (James)
Wizard of Oz Junior, here we come! Try outs were on this day. Next Tuesday, the fun begins.
Wednesday- Children's Zoo, First Day Back to Volleyball Class (Paul), Paul's Crazy Social Life
James and I headed out first thing in the morning to visit our local children's zoo. We are members so that we can take grandchildren, yet have not gone on our own in years. But this was member's early entrance morning and we thought it would be fun to go hang out for an hour or so.
I don't have pictures of Paul's adventures. As a homeschool parent, I don't want my child to feel deprived, but sheesh! This kid needs to start driving (almost there). You know, I don't want to have one of those weird unsocialized type kids. ;)
Thursday- Baby Day + A Few Home Repairs
This day was full of all kinds of cuteness.
Friday- Art Class (with cousins) + Homeschool Park Day + Family Dinner + More of Paul's Crazy Social Life
We are getting back in the swing of activities. Next week is the real deal, but we are warming up.
Saturday- Mark Decides He Wants to Have a Life (Outside of Home)
Mark is our homebody. Mostly, he would rather stay home and fiddle with his RC cars or play with his brother on Mindcraft. But this time, when offered to attend a teen game day with our homeschool group, he went for it!! And had so much fun. I am super happy, but wondering how we are going to handle another kid who wants to "socialize". :)
Sunday- Visit new baby niece, Amelia (I love that name!) + Family Dinner
My sister and her 5 children, 2 of my daughters and their children, and I with 2 of my boys headed to the beach to try and stretch our summer just a bit longer.

The highlight of the morning was watching the Fossa eat breakfast. Eew.
Thursday- Baby Day + A Few Home Repairs
This day was full of all kinds of cuteness.
This is not a picture from Thursday (I did not take many), but this is a sample of the cuteness I am talking about. This was taken last March at the twin's baptism.
Mark taking initiative to repair our coat rack. He and James have also been working on fixing up their room a bit.

Sunday- Visit new baby niece, Amelia (I love that name!) + Family Dinner
We have missed out on celebrating most holidays together this past year due to the craziness of life, but my sister and I decided that we should try to set some time aside to get together with our families. For our first time out, all of my children with their husbands and children we able to make it! My sister's 5 children are all still at home and they were all there as well. It was a pretty big success thanks in large part to my brother-in-law's mad skills on the bbq!
This collage shows just a bit of the evenings goings on. It is hard to capture too much as there were groups all over doing different things: eating, playing football, visiting, swinging, .... We make quite a crowd these days.
Also, a small project I have been working. I was trying to think of something I would love to spend a little time doing (time that is not really available) and the first thing that came to mind was picture books- I would actually love to write one. I have an idea. I just need the time to go with the idea! But, that aside, I decide to create a little space where I could just revel in picture books. I could have added posts to this blog, but I want some place special just to share this one topic. Come and visit. There are just a few posts, but I hope to spend a bit more time on it. (warning: I am having some format/font issues. It is readable, but I need a few minutes to work on that!)

I think you are getting busier with the grand babies than when you just had yours? Perhaps? Such sweet, sweet faces, Laurie! May your days continued to be filled with joy and happiness!
ReplyDeleteBTW, my hubs and I went on a double date with the Sakelsons this past weekend. Every time I see her now, I think I am even that much closer to knowing you IRL ;)
