Yummy Cookies & A Menu Board
Two more things made via Pinterest! I am not planning on joining in "Pinning it Down" every week, but I am enjoying the inspiration- inspiration to get making stuff and inspiration seeing what others have done using Pinterest.
I decided to make these simple cookies this weekend- before I knew it, James (8yo) had my old apron on and was asking "what are we making?". Well, the recipe did say that any 4 year old could make it. After telling him he had to find the camera first (if we cook together, I take pictures.;)), we got cookin'.
Checking out the recipe. Fortunately, the not entirely kid appropriate title is written all as one very big word, so he did not even try to read it.
Pouring in the Karo and sugar.
and thinking it does not smell super delicious.
Then adding peanut butter...
and starting to think that these might not be too bad after all.
Mixing in the Corn Flakes.
Drop by tablespoons and drizzle chocolate.
DONE and DELICIOUS!!

And...
I found this project on last week's "Pinning It Down". Of course, I pinned it!
I told my very sweet daughter that I wanted to make this dry erase menu board. Today she emailed me several pages that she created for me to choose from. They were all adorable, but I chose this one because it looks very kitcheny.
This just appeals to the organization fanatic in me!
The menu board idea was originally "pinned" from Make and Takes.

Making due with what I have on hand, I printed it on cardstock and put it in a magnetic frame. I still like the standing frame idea better, but hanging it on the fridge has the added benefit of not taking up counter space! At any rate, it will do until I get to the store to purchase a frame. (I did try the dry erase markers on the back first to be sure they wipe off nicely and they do.)

These are great! I bet you'll like having that menu on your fridge instead of a countertop. Always handy- never lost or under a pile of stuff. Or maybe your countertop is never a pile of "stuff" like mine is. ;)
ReplyDeleteThose cookies look yum! I just pinned the menu frame. What a great idea! I always right it down but can never find it. That will take care of that!
ReplyDeleteAwesome ideas! I think I like the magnetic board better. Tell your little man good job on the cookies! Thanks for the sweet welcome for Cecelia!
ReplyDeleteI have got to make one of those dry erase menu boards! That is a great idea. And those cookies....yum!
ReplyDeleteNeat idea. I have not used menu planning for a long time. I think this is worth a try !
ReplyDeleteThese cookies look dangerous!! Easy and yummy, my favorite :)
ReplyDeleteTwo! Good job, Laurie!
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, the name of those cookies is hilarious! And I am not sure if I am happy or not that they are gluten free...trying to drop a few pounds before my daughter's First Communion! Anyway, they look super yummy. And the menu board - practical and pretty!
They look yummy!
