Project Display Ideas

There is nothing worse than having your child work on a project (art/craft) and then having it sit on the shelf unseen. In our super small house, finding an option to display said project is a challenge. After seeing a friend hang her Christmas cards "clothes line" style across her window, I modified the idea to display projects in the same manner.

I either string a piece of twine across the top of the widow to hang
things on or use thumb tacks to hold the item in place.

This Christmas card photo gives the best view of how the twine option would look.
I love the cute little clothes pins!

Our kitchen window is our most often used "display" area.
These suncatchers are each hung by a string across the twine.

Most of our hanging projects are seasonal.

This one and the leaf above have a thumb tacks on the top
edge of the window jam to secure each string.

Even more meaningful is when a child's own designs (not a preset project or kit) are featured.  A few years ago, my boys enthusiastically made several of their own Christmas decorations. Sadly, I don't have pictures of the display (very unlike me!), but you can get the idea of what it might have looked like from the picture below. Each cut, glittered, glued, and pom-pommed item hung from our window twine. The boys were so pleased to see their own creations featured over the window during Christmas season.

Cabinet doorknobs are another great place to display projects.
If there is a doorknob, we hang something on it!
