Journal of the Week::June 11-15 2012
It really is not possible that another whole week is flown by! I have had to put our summer planning on hold with how busy we have been (not that we have not squeezed fun in!). But that summer routine is going to have to wait for July and August.
Monday, we had our end of the year Spanish class party. This event got it's own post, so I am just including this picture for my wrap-up.
Mark, whose foot was getting swollen running around on it (bee sting), sat down toward the end of the party for some R&R with my phone. This little guy (little brother of some of the students) snuggled up with him to watch. Just thought it was sweet.
Tuesday it was all about chores and school- some days just have to be that way!
Wednesday was summer fun day! We headed to the beach in honor of my nephew's (baby on the left) 1st birthday. The other picture below shows 1st and 2nd base in a game of beach baseball (only a tennis ball was used and there is no bat- just hands).
Since some friends/cousins of ours just completed a unit study on pizza, we graciously ;) agreed to attend a field trip with them to CPK on Thursday where the kids got the VIP tour and each made a pizza. Does it get any better?
And, finally, Friday. We were able to get to mass in the morning in honor of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and then we had our first official day of babysitting this summer (the boys and I are on duty once a week through August). We had a great time at our local petting zoo. Honestly, I think we had more fun than the little ones.
I am so happy for my boys that they get to enjoy this with their niece and nephew. They just seemed to be so happy the whole time we were there. Being able to share and explore with the little ones was so wonderful for them.

To add to the fun, while dad and Paul were at the history making GIANTS GAME!!! that evening, we headed to nearby downtown. Wednesday evenings are known around these parts as Wagging Wednesdays. People are invited to dine in the outdoor areas with their dogs. I thought my dog loving boys would think that was great- and they did. Mark brought pencil and paper to tally the number of each type of dog he saw (can you say "homeschool nerdiness"?!).

Erin joined us as a well AND graciously consented to sitting in the pink child's chair (the only chair left) to eat her ice cream- James, the more logical choice, was having nothing to do with sitting in a PINK chair.
Just to prove they were there.

That's it!!

Your gang was as busy as my gang! I agree. I'm taking a breather for a week. Love all of your pictures...one is cuter than the other! Had a good chuckle over the tally sheet of dogs/homeschool nerdiness! Enjoy this beautiful weekend celebrating the feast days :)
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you on the Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary:) Boy, you have been action-packed! We are still dazed and confused after our vacation so routine is non-existent at our house for awhile too. Have a blessed Father's Day weekend and Go Giants!
