Monterey Bay Aquarium

Being nearby, we have visited this aquarium many times over the years. We are doubly blessed that free homeschool days are offered on several days throughout the year!

We arrived in Monterey early and played tourist at this popular eatery.
I have always wanted to eat there!

The kids have no idea who "Forrest" is, but they all had fun stepping in
his shoes and posing for a picture.

There are references to the movie and memorabilia throughout the restaurant

We had this wonderful ocean side table.

I just love this picture of my big boy and the little ones.

At The Aquarium-

Seahorses are just magical!

So, this emptied shell is seriously cool! Lesson on exoskeletons anyone? Love it!!

In addition to the regular displays, there is an education room set up on these special days.

With crafts to make.

Things to view up close- I don't remember what is being magnified
on the screen, but the boys all loved it!

Various opportunities to see and touch things that you would not normally be able to!

Including a turtle shell...
outside AND in!

By far the most popular attraction there (as far as our kids are concerned)
is this adorable little guy, my nephew!
