Staycation::More Academy
I started to post some of our "staycation" a few days ago, but got hit with a bug of sorts (all of us but Mark have gotten some version of it).
Still on day 1, we are moving on to the aquarium at the CA Academy of Sciences-
Our long awaited visit (after listening to radio ads about it for months) to the "Animal Attraction" area. It is a small, crowded exhibit, so it was tough to really fully appreciate it on this day. We have a membership, so we'll be back to take another look.
Yes, mom is going to take yet another picture of you!
While we love going to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, this one has a variety that we have not seen before (as the bay aquarium has lots of critters from the bay). This window washer/scuba diver is cleaning the coral reef exhibit.
Another one that we have never seen before. The Glass fish. You can actually see the bones and organs!
One of Mark's favorite of the day was the Alligator gar. Our pictures did not turn out well, but anything this talked about afterwards deserves a mention.
And the white alligator. This was Mark's favorite of all. (He had five all together)
The other boys said that everything was pretty cool so they did not have a favorite.

Tell Mark that my hubs bow fishes for alligator gar. They are sooooo huge and difficult to catch. Quite an ugly critter, too!
ReplyDeleteGreat trip on your stay at home vacation:)
