Back to School Highlights!
Five in a Row- Wee Gillis
This is a book that we have not "rowed" before- or even read!! I truly was not prepared, so I just picked a book, pulled out the Five in a Row manual, and began on the first lesson for Wee Gillis. This has been "conversational" style learning all the way. We have had a great time finding out about Scotland, learning about our family names (Grandma was a helpful resource for this one), discussing "foreshadowing", doing all of the art lessons (just on a little note pad), and are finishing up today with doing math and science. Some encouragement to "just do it!"--- every lesson does not have to be perfect. :)Classical Charlotte::: Wee Gillis

All About Spelling
I love this curriculum!! This will be another post (soon), but we are on lesson 21 and have planned a Chuck E. Cheese celebration for when we complete level 1. We worked on this lightly throughout the summer, but, this week, we are back on track- full speed ahead.
Lego Challenge
I love things that lighten the mood and get my boys thinking. This did both- added bonus- the younger two boys played with their Lego bridge all day! :)Erin Goes to Big Girl School!!
Our oldest three daughters all started at the local junior college when they turned 17. For various reasons, we looked at other options and came up with a local 1 day a week school for Erin, who is 17 this year. She will be taking English Comp., Conversational Spanish and Biology. We are all happy with our decision, but it has been awfully quiet around here today. :(The Beach (shhhh!- we cut class on Monday ;))
Actually, we'll call it PE (boogie boarding) and science (crab hunting and tide pool hopping). :) Happy Homeschooling!! :)
Looks great! I loved it all ~ especially the cutting class part. ;-) That would be so cool to cut class to go to the beach! Glad your year is off to a wonderful start. :-)
