Week in Review:::The One That Was Not Productive!
Monday started with a trip to the doctor's office for a sprained ankle (for James). Doctor felt pretty sure that there might be a break, so we were sent to the x-ray office for a long, long wait... to find out it was a sprained ankle after all. On Tuesday, having James on crutches, my darling grandson, and two older boys in tow, I muddled through errands and Mark's eye doctor appointment. We were back at the doctor on Wednesday with Erin for an injury sustained while doing one of those ridiculous bungee things at a carnival. Erin is recuperating- slowly. Not the worst of weeks, but productivity is not the first word that comes to mind.
So, with that explanation, here are a few of our highlights:
This is my new toy:
Mind you, I used to shun all such gadgets- being the old lady I am, I would sigh and ruminate on the good old days when people got by without such things. :)

I try to keep my posts relevant to homeschooling, so lest you think this is off topic, I am finding this gadget a lovely asset to our school day- or at least to the learning process. We download books from the library to listen to, we stargaze, do Montessori crossword puzzles, play chess (thank goodness- my 12yo is always looking for someone to play with in our not so chess savvy family!), watch School House Rock (while waiting for-e-ver in the x-ray office), and have a serious addiction to word popper!!
I know the rest of the world is way ahead of me on this, but we are having a lot fun learning and playing with my new toy. :)
PE -
Come on, help me out here. This has to count for something.
Lego Challenge-
James was so upset that he missed the deadline for the challenge, but it all worked out. Not only did his playground get a whole blog post here on our blog, Lego Quest posted his picture after all! He was thrilled. :) It is the small things.

Finally!!-
We completed level 1 of All About Spelling. I just completed a rather lengthy post about it, so, suffice it to say, we are on to level 2!
Park Day-
Today is park day with our homeschool group. I can't wait to sit and enjoy some nice fall weather with friends. Picture to come!! :)
Home from park day- and it was magical.

Hi Lori!
ReplyDeletePE - whatever works, right?
We still have warm weather here in TX so our PE consists of taking a weekly dip in the subdivsion pool.
Those doctor appt's always throw a curve ball in our plans, don't they?
Looking forward to seeing and learning more next week!
Vitamix...our new electric gadget.
If it makes you feel better, I haven't picked up an iPod touch yet. I'm thinking of asking for one for Christmas - I think we'd use it a bit for school, and it seems fun, too.
