Snuggle Your Kids Today

When our dear friend passed away last week, one of the first things that my sister said was "who is going to snuggle with the girls in the morning? S. snuggled with her girls every morning".

How many times do I wake up and start barking orders, or yelling that we are running late, or scolding that no one has gotten started on their chores... Imagine a world where my kids wake up and snuggle with me every morning.

I am not sure that will happen all the time, but it sure changes my perspective on my "wake-up attitude".

So, in honor of our dear friend, I am going to try to spend a little less time barking and a little more time snuggling.

Thanking God for the blessing of my children and being here to spend time with them.

  1. Hi Lori, I saw your blog link on Jen's Forever, For Always, No Matter What Blog and came over to say hello. I saw your comment that you start your day with your children praying the rosary. I think that's wonderful!

I have one son and we don't do that even though I would like to. I pray the rosary almost daily and I take my son to pray the rosary on Monday nights at our church during Eucharistic Adoration.

I should be doing more though... you've inspired me!

  2. Thanks for your kind comment, Noreen. I should go back and qualify that we start our *school day* with our prayers and then our read aloud. Sadly, I still manage to wake up in drill sergeant mode. ;) Fortunately, I have wonderful examples IRL and online of moms who inspire me to do want to better. I am glad I could pass some of that on.

  3. I know! The internet can be a blessing to us mothers who are striving to walk with God. We need the stories of struggles and triumph... it makes us human!
