Wrapping Up The First Week Of The New Year
It interesting to see the variety of posts coming from the limited blog circle I follow (faith, homeschooling, and home-keeping blogs). They range from "sorry I vanished off the blogging planet" to "super-hyper new year's enthusiasm". I like both ends of the spectrum- the one makes me feel okay for not being able to get back in the groove after the holidays, the other inspires me to get moving.
In keeping with the new year, this is my "kick-off" post and my "weekly wrap-up" all in one. :)
Lots of pictures- in no particular order:
What better way to begin the new year than with a clean school room? And well needed too!
James organized the coloring books (he made a "big kid" drawer and a "little kid" drawer).
Mark sharpened and organized all the pencils...
AND tested all the markers- only the good ones left.
Only the Prismacolors.
No more excuse of not being able to find a pencil!
Our clean up efforts did not end there! Even the dogs got a washing!
The snake cage and fish bowl did not escape the scrub brush.
And we organized a new little "zoo corner" in the school room.
While organizing and cleaning occupied much of the week, there were other happenings too:
Caught this picture from outside the window- Paul helping James with his Lego kit.
We wrote some Christmas thank-you notes.
And babysat these guys this week too!
If you made it this far, that is the start to our 2012!
Happy New Year!

Great stuff, Laurie! I'm right there with you too. It feels so good to get ourselves ready, sort of pre-gaming so to speak, before we can jump back into the game. I know my attitude is much better when I'm on top of my game, being organized or whatever it is. Your diligent planning is sure to give you a leg-up on success:) Have an awesome 2nd week!
ReplyDeleteGreat week, Laurie! I happen to be a fan of the "dream" section :)
ReplyDeleteWe've also been doing a lot of the small-steps cleaning here. And I love the journal idea! Wonderful!
ReplyDeleteIt does feel good to get things cleaned and organized before the lessons start again. Love your zoo corner, my boys would too! Planning and documenting are so important, otherwise I forget. Just this morning at breakfast we were talking about a possible upcoming vacation and we said we needed to make a list of different places we would like to visit - sort of our vacation bucket list. The last photo is so sweet!
